Azaghal – Omega

azaghal – omega

Info

Blasphemy! Azaghal have been around for thirteen unholy years. This fertile band littered more than ten splits and seven full albums, of which “Omega” is their latest. Released on the American Moribund Records “Omega” brings nine fast paced Black Metal tracks. Coming from the northern regions Azaghal explicitly play Scandinavian influenced Svart Metal.

“Taman Maailman Prinssi” starts furious and the second song “Pirun Verta” has got a great vibe that reminds me a bid of the Norwegian Disiplin. In fact Azaghal cannot be compared with the grim and evil bands in the underground. The compositions are taken good care of and the production has got nothing to do with an unclear and dusty underground sound. “Omega” sounds powerful, tick and professional. Probably most true Black Metal bands cannot deal with this modern spirit.

Au contraire Azaghal combine the essence of Black Metal with very good songwriting. There’s “Quetzalcoatl” with its genius oriental chords – And from time to time the use of a synth generates the right ambience. Azaghal can easily compete with the stars in this fast & frostbitten scene. Gorgoroth, Dark Funeral and Marduk, you’re warned!
