Amargor/Lord Bakartia – Amargor/Lord Bakartia – [Split]

amargor/lord bakartia – amargor/lord bakartia – [split]

Info

And once again we return to the land of Catalunya for yet another release from Amargor, and this time around it’s a split with its fellow countryman, Lord Bakartia. Which is a more Dungeon Synth oriented artist.

This is a short split, a little under 15 minutes, so it works more like a primer for each artist than anything else. It’s one song for each one and the third and final track is a collaboration between the two.

For Amargor’s song, it’s simple and short, nothing too extraordinary. It’s a by the numbers Black Metal approach, but competent in its delivery. As for Lord Bakartia’s side, it’s a very short piece with heavy elements of Dark Ambient, and it’s good, but nothing too remarkable.

The highlight definitely goes to the last song, which as an effort between the artists offers much more variety despite its simple composition. It’s also more on the lengthier side, going well over six minutes in its duration.

It stands well above the rest of the split and, for me at least, it is more like a typical Amargor song that we’d find on one of the band’s many past releases, just with a nice layer of synth work accompanying it in the background.

Overall, the songs here aren’t anything too special, but they’re coherent with the premise of being an introduction for each band’s work. But the collaboration is definitely the best part here that you should check out.
