Grieve – Grieve [EP]

grieve – grieve [ep]

When the nowadays Finnish Black Metal scene knocks on the door with a new release, you bet your ass it is in the mid-90s vein. And no surprise this EP created by Grieve has that same sound, the use of melody, atmosphere and variation of pace.

Grieve is a new horde but with familiar faces as Spellgoth (Horna among others), V-Khaoz (Vargrav, Azaghal and so on), Werwolf himself (Satanic Warmaster, The True Werwolf and so many more) gathered with vocalist Valtias to compose a couple of tracks which are more than decent. They don’t invent the wheel again and that is not their purpose either, just a couple of veterans who seem to be a fan of the old style still. And if you buy the 12” version, you will get 2 bonus tracks as well. (Ricardo)
