Frostvore – Drowned By Blood

frostvore – drowned by blood

Japanese Death Metal, a more exotic kind of thing but usually tasteful (or disgusting depending on the point of view). Frostvore are amongst them and are ready to shoot straight with their first album released through Testimony Records from Germany.

The instrumental intro is eerie and already leads the path for a a nice sinister Swedish-induced Death Metal record in the veins of Dismember and Entombed. I think it sums the record up quite good, because Frostvore manage to write great grooves and melodies Dismember and now Frostvore are known for, something I really love. Crust, up tempo beats, slower crushing rhythms, HM-2 sound, Killer grunts, bass roaring all the way and sinister, melodic melodies and leads, everything that made records like “Left Hand Path”, “Clandestine”, “Like an Everflowing Stream” or “Indecent and Obscene” amazing and classics, is present.

Is it new? No. Does it work? Yes! Is it bangable? Yes!! Can they Death Metal? Truly yes!!! Maybe the most outstanding song is the title track, some cool things going on right there (Autopsy meets Paradise Lost, meets Entombed) or the killer Dismemberish “The Reaper”. The second half is even more killer than the first, something you don’t get usually.

Great experience, killer Death Metal, check it out! Uh! (DPF)
