De Profundis [UK] – Kingdom of the Blind

This English band has released their fourth studio album titled ‘Kingdom of the Blind’. After listening to this release the first time I needed time to let it settle in my brains. After some days I’ve re-listened this one and then the pieces somewhat fell together for writing down my review. Picture this: doomy death metal with a big progressive touch and ditto jazzy injections learned from the best (Chuck…are you there?), add some strong songwriting to it and let it fit together with a very clean production (pro or contra, I let you decide yourself). Yep, that’s about the total description of this band’s sound! The vocals from Craig Land are splendid, cause the low growls create the atmosphere this album needs and overall seen I’m sure the listeners will stay focused when listening to this album. So, if you’re ready for this challenge, I hope you also have the same feeling like me: good in many facets, but sometimes other choices could been taken, but generally this one scores more than great points with me!
